Many people walking across a field make a path. As you make a journey, you trace out a track, which could follow this path, adding your footsteps.
Smaller animals often follow the same tracks time after time, making paths.
Again, notice that the track is recorded as a sequence of straight lines. To get smoother curves, use many more straight lines.
Paths are a record on the ground of where many creatures have journeyed. So a record of what has happened: many tracks contributed to a path.
But physics also predicts what will happen, and that comes next.
